Introducing Me
Hey y’all! My name is Beth and I am a potter from upstate South Carolina, just south of Charlotte, NC. I have been creating my masterpieces, and some not so much masterpieces, since 2016. I started with classes at the local pottery studio and fell in love with the art.
I have always been an artsy person. I grew up in the rolling hills of Virginia and graduated from Concord University. After a couple of odd jobs here and there, I eventually found my way into Graphic Design for the Charlotte Observer, where I stayed for several years before I moved on to take care of my daughter and our herd of animals.
In mid-2016, our family was blessed to be able to move to our forever home on 20 acres of land. This property became the inspiration for my name “Whispering Winds.” The breeze is always blowing out on the farm and thus was born Whispering Winds Pottery.
I moved into my own studio space on the farm several years ago where I throw, handbuild, bisque, glaze, and fire all of my pottery. My basset hound, Cooper, is almost always down there with me, and from my window, I can see our horses, Sammy and Gus, and our donkey, Poncho. It is truly my piece of heaven.
I currently attend shows several times a year but am available for commissions and requests most of the year. I hope you enjoy pottery as much as I do. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!
Have a blessed day and I hope to hear from you soon.
~ Beth
